Champions again, Champions again, Champions again ole ole

We’ve all been well versed in winning titles, and each and every one is just as special as the other, but this one feels more satisfying, especially when it looked doubtful just a couple of months ago when it looked as if we were doing our level best to throw it away.

We of course showed great character and determination as well as our ability to put ourselves back in contention and tonight we can finally sit back and applaud a job well done after a scintillating 5-0 win over Kilmarnock. We won the title playing football the Glasgow Celtic way.

It’s a title we richly deserve through our own hard work, despite what you might hear elsewhere. If they had beaten Motherwell, Ross County and Dundee blah blah blah. But no account taken about ifs and buts for Celtic going all the way back to a goalless draw against St Johnstone last August at Celtic Park. The difference is Celtic didn’t need excuses. Winners don’t.

Other than the bounce match season behind closed doors Celtic have had an uninterrupted domination of the Scottish Premiership and now with the enhanced Champions League riches heading to Paradise rather than their place the gap has never been wider.

We’ve won the most games, scored the most goals, conceding the least, and we have amassed the most points. We are the best team in the country and more than worthy champions. Glasgow Celtic, champions again ole ole.

And well done to Celtic FC Women who won 3-1 away to Hearts earlier this evening to set up a second title party at Celtic Park this weekend. Unlike Brendan’s side the Ghirls need to beat Hibs on Sunday and they are the SWPL1 Champions. That would deliver another first for Celtic – the first club to win both the men’s and the women’s titles on the same season.

We need a massive crowd at Celtic Park on Sunday to help Elena Sadiku’s Celtic FC Women with the match and lift the trophy.
