It’s no secret that Hunter Greene has been working his tail in hopes of taking the next step on the mound.
He's added two pitches to his repertoire this offseason: a curveball and a splitter. He discussed both additions with MLB Network.
“I feel like so many guys have added a lot of pitches over the offseason I feel like a bunch of guys have added splits (splitter),” Greene said. “I don’t know if that’s from some of the players that’s coming from Japan that throw the best splits in the game and guys that played over there I’ve had teammates that come from over there and they got really good splitters so for me man it’s been just trying to find a pitch that I can get some early contact with. Trying to go deeper into games. I want some complete games under my belt this year."
The Reds and Greene are hopeful that he'll take a step forward and establish himself as one of the best young starters in the big leagues this season.
